Privacy policy
The short version.
- This site collects only what you type into the early-access form: your email and, if you choose, the errand you'd hand off first.
- We use it to let you know when your access is ready, and to understand what people want Errand to do. Nothing else.
- We don't sell it, we don't use ad trackers, and this site sets no cookies.
- Email connect@errand.bot and we'll delete your details.
Who we are
Errand is an early-stage product built by a small team. In this policy, "Errand", "we" and "us" mean the team behind Errand and errand.bot. We're responsible for the information you share here. You can reach us anytime at connect@errand.bot.
This policy covers the errand.bot website and its early-access list. The Errand assistant itself will come with its own privacy terms, which we'll share with you before you start using it.
What we collect
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | You join the early-access list | To tell you when your access is ready and send occasional updates about it |
| The errand you'd hand off first (optional) | You choose to fill it in | To learn what people need, so we build the right things first |
| The date and time you signed up | You join the list | To let people in roughly in the order they joined |
Please don't put sensitive details, like health information or passwords, in the optional field. We don't need them.
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and keep the site secure. We don't use it to identify you, and we don't run analytics or advertising trackers.
Cookies
This site doesn't set any cookies. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser asks Google's servers for them and Google sees your IP address when it does. You can read about that in Google's privacy policy.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We use a few service providers to run the site, and they handle data only on our behalf:
- Microsoft Azure hosts the website and stores the early-access list, in data centres in the United States.
- Azure Communication Services sends us an internal notification when someone joins the list.
- Google Workspace runs our email, so when we write to you or you write to us, those messages pass through Google.
We'd also disclose information if the law required us to. If Errand becomes part of a company or changes hands, the list would move with it under this same policy, and we'd tell you first.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while the early-access list is open and you're on it. If you ask us to remove you, or once you've been let in and no longer need list updates, we delete them. We review the list at least once a year and remove anything we no longer need.
Your choices and rights
Email connect@errand.bot and you can:
- ask what we hold about you and get a copy,
- correct it,
- have it deleted, or
- stop hearing from us.
We'll reply within 30 days, and usually much sooner. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, including the right to complain to your data protection authority. We'll honour those too.
Keeping it safe
The site is served only over HTTPS. The list is stored in a private, access-controlled database that only the Errand team can reach. No system is perfectly secure, but if something ever went wrong that affected your information, we'd tell you promptly.
Children
Errand isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has signed up, tell us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page as Errand grows, for example when we formally register the company or launch the assistant. When we do, we'll change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use details you've already given us, we'll email you first.
